My name is Allison Christensen and I have always been interested in photography. I received an degree in photography from the Art Institute of Seattle in 1993.
I went from there to work for a large portrait corporation, specializing in children's photography, for nine years. While I was on Maternity leave with my son Cole, I looked
down at this tiny sweet little baby of mine and knew that I could not go back to a busy upper management position. So, after being gone from our home state of Utah for nearly
ten years, my husband and I moved back and I started Pretty Pictures. That was in 2004.
The main light source in the studio comes from a large North facing window. This can really be challenging, but I prefer the glow and softness of natural light.
My style is very simple, I do not like to surround your child in stuff. The main focus for me is to capture the spirit of your child in this moment. I do enjoy going on location,
especially with family sitting. I do not have a lot of rules about the studio, there is not a set number of poses that I take each session, I like to go with the flow of you and your child.
My goal is to hear you say "That was the best photo shoot we have ever had, I am so excited to pick up my prints!"
I now live in Eagle Mountain, Utah with my super supportive husband Myron and two sweet heart babies Cole (4) and Addie (2).
